O.A.S.I. (Orthopaedic Arthroscopic Surgery International) Bioresearch Foundation Gobbi Onlus, is a non-profit organization, that was founded by Dr. Alberto Gobbi with the intention of bringing together experts in Orthopaedic trauma specialized in micro-invasive surgery and in the treatment of Sports injuries. Clinicians and researchers in the field of Biotechnology collaborate in order to improve knowledge in the prevention and treatment of degenerative processes and aging.
O.A.S.I. Bioresearch Foundation statute aims to encourage cultural exchange, the sharing of knowledge and technological know-how, the commitment and enthusiasm of those who want to learn, grow and transfer knowledge.
In Milan, in collaboration with the AISPO (Associazione Italiana di Solidarietà tra i Popoli) San Raffaele, the O.A.S.I. Foundation has created a team of doctors, bio engineers and internationally renowned researchers who are conducting research on the application of stem cells and growth factors in Orthopedics and Sports Traumatology.
In an effort to train young surgeons from emerging countries, O.A.S.I. is included in the list of ‘ICOE – International Center for Orthopaedic Education, a cultural organization created in 1994 in Los Angeles to provide orthopedics from around the world the possibility of cultural exchange and implementation of training programs in specific areas of orthopedic-surgical trauma. Through this initiative O.A.S.I. created a database that contains information on the most important orthopedic centers in the world and documents their willingness to carry out programs of education and refinement. O.A.S.I. Bioresearch Foundation Gobbi Onlus, is accredited by the Italian Ministry of Health and recognized as an International Teaching Center by ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine) and ICRS (International Cartilage Repair Society).
Numerous requests arrive every year at O.A.S.I. from young doctors from all over the world who wish to participate in the fellowship scheme. O.A.S.I., thanks to the collaboration with AISPO, is able to accommodate 3 researchers per year.
